On January 25, integrated display platform of the smart Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games weather prediction demonstrate plan (hereafter referred to as the demonstration plan) was officially unveiled. It can carry out real-time demonstration, verification and assessment of prediction products from 22 institutions engaging in the demonstration plan, and provide scientific support for the meteorological service team for the event to conduct minute scale and hundred-meter-scale prediction services.

Currently, about 50 forecasting products from 22 institutions have been tested, operated, and displayed on the platform. Prediction products will also go through rigorous testing for a certain period. After verified, the service team will finalize the prediction products for the event via real-time experiment, application, and assessment.

It is informed that the platform sets modules like grid point analysis, grid point prediction, set point prediction of the venues, verification assessment, and data monitoring and control. It is underpinned by big data cloud platform Tianqing, comprehensive meteorological operational real-time monitoring system Tianjing, and myriad technologies that support the integration display and effective operation of the platform.

In 2020, China Meteorological Administration (CMA) organized the implementation of the demonstration plan, and will provide potent meteorological scientific support for the service team along with objective prediction technical approaches like machine learning, big data, and others.
